Laser Tattoo Removal
Origination of Tattoo Removal The word Tattoo comes from the Tahitan word 'tatu' which translates as 'to mark something'. Tattooing is an art form where a pigment (ink) is inserted into the skin. Early origins showed tattoos were used in different cultures as marking for religious worship or punishment. Around the 16th century many sailors returned from expeditions with markings of their travels and so tattoos were regarded as low class. Over time as artists improved, tattoos were reserved for aristocrats and high end professionals. Again when the cost lowered it was then regarded as low class until the 60’s. In the 60's, tattoos re-entered the mainstream and became more acceptable, this has continued to grow from strength to strength and estimates say around 1 in 3 people now has at least one tattoo. Back to the present day and tattoing has evolved massively. The art work by professionals, ink quality and needle choice has improved leaving some earlier tattooes undesirable – and that is where we can help!! Does it hurt? Yes but the pain varies from person to person and of course on the area you are having laser. Some people find the tattoo more painful then the removal. If you were to ask me personally what it feels like I find the reference to hot fat spitting at you from a frying pan as a very good likeness, however some people simply refer to it as elastic bands snapping on your skin. If you’re nervous and want to try before you by we can offer a free no obligation patch test for you, If you find it still hurts but you really want it gone then don’t worry, we do have super strength numbing cream available for purchase! Semi Permanent Makeup
The Origination of Semi Permanent Make-up The first documented permanent makeup treatment was performed in 1902 and was a cheek blush. In the 20’s the trending treatment of an "all-year-round delicate pink complexion" on the cheeks became popular in the USA. Many beauty salons tattooed many women without their knowledge, offering it as a "complexion treatment, this was done by injecting vegetable dyes under the top layer of the skin. What areas can be treated? Here at Real beauty we can offer: Hairstroke eyebrows (this style mimics natural hair for a natural look) Powder eyebrows (this style looks like brows that have been defined with a pencil but still natural) Eyeliner (Top and/or Bottom liner is available) Lip liner (Choose either a bright colour or something natural to add definition to lips) Lip blush (This will change the base colour of your lips to the chosen ink) Tell me about the treatment At your initial appointment, we start by numbing the area to be treated and choosing a colour that will compliment your skin tone. Once numb, we will draw an eyebrow shape to suit you and only once you are happy with the shape and colour selection do we then start to tattoo. Through out the procedure we will reapply numbing cream to keep any discomfort to a minimum.....we have been complimented several times on how painless treatment is with us compared to other technicians. We figure if you are comfortable and happy through the treatment, so are we and results will be faster and better acheived. How often do I need it? Top up of your initial treatment is highly recommended within 1 – 3 months and its usually included in the initial price too! This initial top up will touch up any parts which may have faded during healing, it also allows for slight shape or colour change if required and ultimately it will pro-long the life span of your make up. After initial top up, your make up should last between 3 - 5 years. However, it does fade according to individual *lifestyle and so you may want a top up before then. Most people usually get a refresher every 12 - 1 8 months. *Dependant on lifestyle, i.e..if you smoke, drink, swim and/or use sunbeds, you may find you want a top up a little sooner as these can reduce the longevity of your make-up. Laser Hair Removal
Origination of Laser Hair Removal For as far back as we can remember men and women have always possessed a desire to permanently remove unwanted body hair. The first laser designed to destroy hair follicles was invented in 1960 however it could only minimise hairgrowth and often resulted in damage to the skin. In the 70’s laser technology progressed and whilst safer than before it could not produce enough heat to destroy the hair follicle meaning permanent results were almost always unachievable. In 1983 scientists finally managed to produce a laser which could effectively target the hair follicle without damaging the surrounding skin. Fast forward to the present day and home use laser machines are readily available. However the high cost and slower results compared to salon lasers does not always make this an attractive choice. Tell me about the treatment Here at real beauty we use a Q Switched ND:YAG Laser. In laymans terms, our laser is suitable for all skin types and hair colour. As the laser targets pigment colour the darker the hair the faster the results can be achieved. We can treat blonde and ginger hair too, however this may take slightly longer to get the desired results. During treatment, we place a cooling gel on the area to be treated and using the laser work our way over the entire area you want to be hairfree. You will be required to wear black out goggles to protect your eyes. The treatment should not be painful at all, you will feel warmth with a slight pricking sensation after each laser shot, settings can and will be adjusted dependant on client and area to be treated. What are the benefits No more ‘growing’ hair ready for waxing Painfree Visible reduction in hair growth after 1 treatment Cost effective compared to razors, waxing etc... Time effective – no need to shave, pluck or wax once you are hair free Healthy skin, no more irritation, razor rash or ingrown hairs How often do I need it Hair removal is normally purchased in a block of 6 sessions as this is classed as the ‘average’ amount of treatments required for removal – this is not a set figure though and we cannot guarantee this as each client is different. Each session is spaced between 4-6 weeks apart so that a new hair growth cycle can be targeted. The laser will destroy approximately 80% of hair in each new hair growth cycle hence the need for several sessions to be hair free.
